Verona - Train Writing

For some reason every song that comes on my iPod while I'm travelling is perfect ùly timed. Perfectly suited to that moment. Most times the music matches what I'm feeling and the feel of where ever I happen to be.

I wrote these on a scrap of paper yesterday while on my way back from Venice.

Yellow lit train each person on their way elsewhere. Home, holidays, escape. The soundtrack in my ears, painting pictures of peoples' thoughts. Forces open those emotions I want so much to hide away. Not here, not now.

Another station, another stop, another town. You come, you go, people get on, people get off. Everyone going somewhere unimportant. Noise, accents, conversation, pages turning, packets rustling, shuffles of clothing as people move past. Blank faces, concentration, animation, sleep, dream, twitching.

===

Somehow any song that comes on is perfectly suited to this moment. A soundtrack. And now, Let Go - Frou Frou. Exactly. è perfetto.

Già mi trovo pensando in italiano.

I had very much the same thing when i went over to England with the family a couple of years ago.

2 songs stand out for me and it makes me think back everytime i hear them.

The first, sitting on the plane as we take off looking out the window and seeing blue skies while listening to 'Hammock - I can almost see you' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-ayuRE5xd8). It seemed so fitting and everything seemed to slow down as if it was giving me time to remember exactly what was going on and what i was seeing and feeling.

The second, sitting on top on a rock at the top of large hill. One side was the ocean with a lighthouse in view, the other side was a green grass and hedges. The moment i sat down the ipod switched from Frou Frou to 'Streams of Passion - Nostalgia' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqF1Lai_CQE). It gave me the shivers, not because of the weather, but because of the music and the view. If that song had a music video, that is where they would shoot it.

I'm sure you'll have a heap more well timed music moments to remember. It's a nice way to remember your trip.
