I skipped yesterday because, well, it was kinda boring. I somehow managed to screw up my ankle. I'm not wearing proper walking shoes, or my orthotics (bleh, I'm one of *them* types) so it's kinda understandable.
Even still, yesterday we caught the train to Harrod's & I was in there for about 10 minutes before I decided it was far too expensive and just plain boring. So I left and walked up to Zara. I found the coolest pair of black shorts which I picked up before meeting the family again. The boys wantd to watch the football so mum walked & I hobbled our way back to the train station, via all the stores. My other must see store H&M was on the way and I managed to pick up the coolest scarf, a messenger/satchel bag & a beret... beret & scarf already documented on my twitpics.
We made our way back to the Underground & to the pub where the boys were watching the game. By this stage I was exhausted & grumpy so trying to order a drink at the bar became bigger than Ben Hur. I eventually got my drink & something to eat.
The weather & lack of light doesn't really allow you to do much in the evenings so we didn't. We watched TV, washed clothes, made dinner & went to bed at 9pm.
Yeah. We're hard core.

Day Two - London
I really can't be bothered writing at the moment. I'm currently waiting for Flickr to upload only *some* of the photos. Not sure how I'm going to go uploading all the ones I like on a free account... looks like an upgrade is required.
Also, the vlog is too long for flickr, so I'll have to make a youtube account...hrm... ok so the video is uploading. as I type.... as are the photos. Still.
Today we went to find some markets but we were far too early and they weren't *quite* what we were looking for. We caught the Metro then a double decker bus to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge. Both were really cool. The Tower of London would be my favourite so far, just because right near it is some of the most modern architecture here. The contrast between old & new is just wicked.
We somehow managed to walk a fair way, found St Pauls Cathedral & a whole bunch of seats blocked off by the Bobbies hehe. It's been a pretty cold day, but I'm wearing more layers & the gloves I bought yesterday so I'm not feeling it so much.
The time difference is a bit of a bugger and the lack of daylight doesn't help either. It's fairly dark outside but it's only 3pm, unfortunately for me it feels like 11pm & all I want to do is curl up in a tiny ball and go to sleep.
Anywho, as requested here is the vlog I did yesterday!! My first ever *grins*
AND here are some photos of the trip so far. No where near as many as has been taken.
I'll write soon <3 to your mother.

Day One - London
Oh hi!
I'm currently wearing the same clothes I left Australia in... about 36 hours ago. *shudder* You should be thankful you're on the other side of the world from me!
I had a cool 2 minute vlog (my first!) to upload! I was coherent, only said 'uhm' a few times & managed to have some relative links in my thought process. It was awesomeness. However the hotel I am at has a strange internet connection. So while I can plug in the card reader, complete with card, the computer won't recognise it, or the hundred plus photos I've taken today (and by 'I', I mean my family). There were some really good ones too!
I'd like to say I don't miss any of you, but that's simply not true, I've thought of all of you a little at some point or another!
Anyway, to summarise our first day on the other side of the Planet, we walked. The end.
Kidding!! We're not exactly in the middle of London, but we are in what's classed as central London. We saw the Big Ben, which isn't as big as you'd think, but it's much more grand. We also saw Buckingham Palace which, to be honest, was a total let down. I wanted to see the fancy guards and their fur hats!! *pouts* ah well, I can't have everything, can I?
First impression of the city is that it was filthy, all the trash is out on the street in bags, just waiting to be collected. It's very unattractive. However once we got to where we're staying & got to traipsing about, there was almost no trash to be seen!
On second impression, London is ALIVE! Caps revolution! The women are gorgeous, the men are so well dressed it should be illegal, there is fur & fashion at every point. I even saw a guy with a Louis Vuitton bag... *sigh* ANYWAY. That's not what I came here to see, but it is a nice surprise!
The buildings and the architecture is just awe inspiring too. There is so much that is the same, but so much that is different too. I'll let the photos explain this (when I finally get them uploaded). It's just amazing.
Anyway, I've run out of things to say, or the energy to string thoughts together and then translate them into sentences... I forget which.
I'll write soon. <3 to your mother.
