Day Six - Paris

Today was the most boring and the most relaxing day of the trip! I was awake for 3 hours last night due to the pain my ankle caused me and so decided that there would be no walking for this little chicken!

I spent the day mainly in bed reading or sleeping. I finally got to start the book my friend leant me, Eat, Pray, Love. It's great so far. The first section (eat) is all about her four months in Italy and there are a lot of things that strike close to home. I often find myself smiling, most of the time it's a happy smile but sometimes a sad one creeps in too.

Mum brought home some REAL French bread sticks, some dried sausage, brie, swiss cheese, stuffed olives & pepsi max. So for lunch, her, my brother and I sat on the floor in our room and made them up. They're the tiny little moments that are far more perfect than any fancy dinner or well planned day out. I was smiling a lot on the inside!!

I emailed the physio and got some details so hopefully the walking tomorrow will be ok. We leave for Munich first thing...like, leaving the hostel at 6.45am. *dies* Painkillers are on the cards for me! It's also a six hour train trip so that should hopefully give me some good rest time too.

Despite the physical pain & tiredness I am loving this trip! Four more days til we hit Italy and there are no words to describe my impatience to get there!

Amore a tua madre.

the new photo is gorgeous :)
i'm so loving the day-by-day accounts, and i think if you manage to stick with it the whole trip- even if it's only a paragraph or so some days- you'll be really glad you did, cos it'll be such a great record of your trip & you'll be able to go back & read it in years to come, show it to your children.. etc haha. but seriously, i just think it's such a lovely thing to have :)

I agree with minteva about keeping your daily account going. I attempted to do it on my first trip to NZ and failed, but on my trip last year to Bali I succeeded and have a lovely journal full of bits and pieces to remember it by.

I am glad that you are having a great trip thus far. I hope your ankle recovers for you, what a pain for it to play up on your holiday! I feel for you.

Eat, Pray, Love is a great book, hit close to home for me in some parts, but I would say it is one of my all time faves.

Enjoying your blog, great you're doing it! I have the same issues with forgetting to write about stuff and not being able to express everything, but it's better than nothing!

Eat, Pray, Love. I recently read it on a 10hour bus trip, all in one go, which is amazing for me. Lots I identified with, what with getting divorced and now travelling, heh.
